Description:
This team will serve along side the ministries of Eden Children's Village and missionaries, Kevin and Susan Fry. There are lots of ways to serve on this trip, including construction projects at the orphanage or school, serving with an eyeglass clinic, teaching a Bible story to kids, or simply playing with children.

About the Mission
Eden Children's Village is a holistic Christian ministry in Zimbabwe with many ways it meets the physical and spiritual needs of kids and the surrounding community. There is a long-term children’s home for children 15 and under, and a youth home for older youth. There the young adults learn skills and how to live independently. The vocational ministry teaches young adults valuable skills so that they can find a job when they leave Eden. Community-based ministries focus on the families that have taken in children from their extended families. The Shepherd’s Cup ministry is focused on emergency needs of children and their families. They also have a school to help the long-term care children to get caught up in school. The medical clinic seeks to holistically treat as many patients as possible, as well as care for terminally ill children.

Accommodations:
It's possible that this group will sleep in tents on the property of Eden, because the normal housing facilities are full. Nonetheless, the team should have access to showers, water, etc. We may have to rough it a little bit, but hey, it's a mission trip!

Trip Leader:
Jeff Wells. Jeff and his wife, Myra, have been connected with Eden for many years and was there a few years ago.

Cost:
$2,700 pays for everything on the trip except a few out of pocket expenses such as airport meals on travel days and souvenirs. You will also be responsible for obtaining a US Passport if you don't have one, and getting any necessary or recommended vaccinations. Ask about scholarships for Northside members.

Registration:  
The registration deadline is April 23, 2012. A deposit of $900 (1/3 of trip cost) is due with registration.
