Zambia Mission Trip 2011

Adults 18 and up. Youth will be considered on an individual basis. Capacity 8.

Description:  
We will be serving a remote community in Zambia which Northside has sistered with since 2006. We would like to offer an eye clinic this year. Current projects include building a community center, a woman’s group focusing on the gospel and learning trades, water purification, small businesses and evangelism.

We will travel to Lusaka, Zambia with a church ministry team from the Louisville area. Once in Zambia, we will team with them to do some church leadership training in an urban church for two days. Then we will travel to Hamukasunka Village to work in our sister church community. Possibilities of teaching sewing skills, small business, agriculture, public health, and working in construction. There are opportunities to work with all ages. The youth will especially benefit from a sports camp.

Accomodations:  
The team will stay in guest houses while in urban areas. Will need a bed mat and sleeping bag for camping in the village. Tents provided.

Trip Leader:  
Nancy Harper. This will be Nancy’s 11th trip as team leader to Zambia and 7th to Hamukasunka.

Cost: 
$3,000 includes all transportation, meals, accomodations, and Zambian Visa. Team members are responsible for passport, immunizations and malaria medication.

Registration: 
Register online. 1/3 of trip cost ($1,000) is due with registration. Ask about scholarship which are available to Northside members.
