This past summer i went on the Haiti 2 trip with some of the other high school kids and leaders. For me this trip was like no other, the poverty was greater than i had ever seen before, but yet the people were very kind and greeted us with happiness. I would have not been as happy if i were in there shoes, but somehow they put behind what their problems are and see the good in what they have. I made friends with the locals in Chansolme and i cant wait to see them again. While we were in Chansolme and we did the surveys i saw how different their culture is from ours, i was interviewing a woman who's husband had died the same week that we were there. It was a shock to me to see this woman that lost someone that close to her could not be in mourning of her loss. It was almost a joy, like she realizes that her husband is in a better place than she is. I hope this shows you that this trip was one of the best things that has ever happened to me and i am forever changed by it!
