Praying for the City

Romania update Sunday…….Praying for the City—Stephanie Padgett

What another Indescribable day, but I will do my best to tell you a little about it. We started out by going to Salem Church where Rachel , Dave and Iza go to worship our Lord, it very charismatic, the people do not hold back when they are worshipping . Although the language barrier is there for us, you can feel the presence of the Lord, and today was even more special , because Adi our driver for this week has been asking a lot of question about God and his relationship with God, some very deep questions….Praise the Lord our team members who were involved in these conversations opened their hearts up and shared with him stories how they came to Christ and let him ask questions, you have remember everything he asked had to be translated back and forth….but God is stirring this man’s heart, so, how exciting it was that he decided he would come to Church with us instead of sitting in the van waiting on us. He sat in the very back of the church , when Dave arrived he saw he was there , so he sat with him….after the service Adi said he felt something he had never felt before and it was indescribable , he said he felt as if he was really talking to God, and then he said he felt this water on his cheeks and he realized he was crying, he said he can’t remember when the last time was he cried, and the message was about judgment and how you live your life, all the questions Adi had been asking was being answered, it was just another example of God’s goodness we have seen this week ,so please Pray for him that he will come to know Christ .

Next we was off to downtown Oradea where we would eat at very beautiful restaurant called the Capitolium , the food and the atmosphere was Amazing, and I think everyone agreed that the Caesar Salad is the best we have ever tasted.

After that we came back to the farm and relaxed for a little while, then we was off to downtown Oradea where we did a Prayer walk that was led by Tracy and she did an awesome job, we Prayed at the Overlook of the city first, then we went into the city and walked to different locations and Prayed, so I’m thinking why are we not doing this in our own communities? Just a thought! Anyway Oradea is such a beautiful city, especially at night…….we had a great time, with so many emotions running through everyone it was great just to spend the day worshipping God through Prayer and fellowship.

Tomorrow we will head back into Tinca to finish our projects….however there has been mourning in the Tinca Village ,as a young woman from the Village lost her battle with cancer and passed away Friday, this is sad especially for Dave and Tim ,they have been going in and Praying for this family for weeks, Praying this young woman would except Christ, Tim went to see her Friday and he asked her if she would except Christ into her life and she squeezed his hand , he was in tears as he was telling the story . Some of us who want to go will go to the funeral, the custom here is to leave the body at home for viewing for two days, then I black carriage will come and the people will follow it to the cemetery for the burial. It blows me away the compassion that Rachel ,Dave and Tim have for bringing people to know Christ , nothing else really matters, it such a privilege to be in their presence and watch how they serve our God.

We need laughter, tears and joy , today we had an abundance of them all . Praise the Lord!

Praying for the City

God is soooooooooooooooo good! He is using each of you to reinforce that He is real and is working through Forget Me Not Ministries, using Rachel, Dave, and Tim and all who come to Romania to work alongside them. It does not surprise me that Adi had questions and decided to come to church, because each of you have been Jesus with skin on each day as you are with Adi, and he sees you with the children and families in the village, loving them, serving them, encouraging them and praying with and for them. The love of Christ is contagious........and when people see the joy and strength from each of you as you go from early morning until late at night, taking your time, resources and energy to come to Romania and give all that you give, they want what you have.....................and that is a relationship with Christ and the privilege of bringing others to know Him! Without Christ, we are nothing and would never make it. Without Christ, in the Roma culture, there is no hope for change, but through the work of FMN, light is being shown all over that village and is being used to bring others to know Him and carry out Christ's mission! We thank God for what He has done during your time in Romania, and what He plans to do for the rest of the time you are there!

Love you guys! Lois
