Description:
We will be working with Meridzo Ministries and its founders, Lonnie and Belinda Riley, in an area of the Appalachian Mountains where the residence are very poor and need of help. Each morning, the team will offer a Kids' Camp at the local Cumberland Elementary School for about 100 students--with sports, games, crafts, and even Bible lessons. Then, in the afternoons, we'll help with various work projects need at the mission or in the community, such as yard work, painting, construction/maintenance, and more.
About the Mission:
Since its humble beginning in 1999, Meridzo has served thousands in Harlan County and beyond with food, clothing, furniture, appliances, home repairs, church repairs and construction, rebuilt city parks, job opportunities, back yard Bible clubs, etc. - all by God's design. Actual projects for a given trip vary and depend on the gifts and skills of the people who attend. This mission trip offers families an opportunity to grow closer as they work together in the community of Lynch, KY. Interested parties are encouraged to visit the ministry’s website to learn the heart and vision of Meridzo’s faith based ministry.
The following is a quote from the website:
God has incredible blessings in store for all His children who walk by faith. Faith is believing in
the reality of what God has promised. May God bless you as you seek His will and experience
Him through obedience. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen." Hebrews 11:1

The Porch is run by Rick and Kristi Hunter.
