San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation in Globe, AZ

Description:
Volunteers are needed to serve with our mission partners, Arizona Reservation Ministries (ARM), on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. The team will help constuct a house for an Apache family in need in the mornings, and participate in the ministry's bus ministry to children in the afternoons. The team will also help with a Fall Festival which is a big event for the Apache community over Halloween weekend.
Here's the tentative trip schedule:
Oct 27 Thu – Travel to Arizona, ARM lead orientation, Prayer Journey, Bus ministry
Oct 28 Fri – House construction, Bus ministry
Oct 29 Sat – House construction, Apache Youth Center
Oct 30 Sun – House construction, Fall Festival
Oct 31 Mon – Worship, Free day activity TBD
Nov 1 Tue – House construction, Bus ministry
Nov 2 Wed – Travel home
Accomodations:
ARM has lodging facilities at a church in Globe. The bedrooms have bunkbeds. There are also shower facilities, flushing toilets, etc. There is a kitchen and dining room at the church where the team will have most of its meals.
Trip Leaders:
Ricke Wilkinson. Ricke serves on the Northside Missions team, is well connected to Arizona Reservation Ministries, and has led this trip before.
Cost:
Approx. $750 (includes everything except pocket expenses such as a few meals on travel days and souvenirs). Ask about scholarships for Northside members.
Registration:
Deposit of $250 (1/3 of trip cost) is due with registration by Saturday, August 27 (2 months before trip).
